Horchatería El Siglo

Horchatería El Siglo is one of the more famous restaurants in Valencia. It was started in 1836 which makes it 170 years old. As you can see from the photos, our tour guide is explaining what the traditional Valencian women usually wear. Their speciality is the horchata (or the spanish soya bean milk drink as our guide calls it) which is made from tiger nuts. It looks almost the same as the Singaporean Soybean milk drink. The only difference is that it's much thicker, served cold and very very sweet (as compared to our soya bean milk drink but to the Spanish, the sweetness is just right, as they are used to that level of sweetness) The drink is suppose to bring many heath benefits and is said to be a favourite among the local people in Summer. (sidenote: okay, i'm also somewhere inside the photos as these pictures were provided by Mr Ong who was travelling with his family on the same tour also)

Here are several links that reccomand the same restaurant. link1 link2 link3
